Frequently AskedQuestions
Yismach streamlines the shidduch process by instantly connecting those in shidduchim to hundreds of established, professional and recognized shadchanim. Yismach has eliminated the tiresome task of spending hours reaching out to individual shadchanim, one by one.
Yismach is not an online dating site. Yismach reinforces the time tested old-fashioned shidduch system, where shadchanim get to know you and stay involved until engagement.
Simply, sign-up, complete a profile, upload a shidduch resume and picture, and keep your information up to date. As you meet shadchanim in face-to-face meetings or at meet-the-shadchanim parties, or simply speak to some on the phone, your up-to-date information is easily available for them. Shadchanim who have already met you will be reminded about your availability and now have easy access to your current information.
Anyone in shidduchim can put up their information. Any recognized, established, professional shadchan can have access.
At Yismach we protect your dignity by ensuring confidentiality. All of your information is strictly confidential, visible ONLY to professional and well-established shadchanim. You can select which shadchanim has access to your up-to-date information or be visible to all shadchanim.
By putting your profile on Yismach, you are in effect introducing yourself to hundreds of shadchanim who will see your profile and keep you in mind. Thanks to Yismach, you can be contacted by shadchanim that you wouldn’t have had the chance to turn to. Shadchanim aren’t limited to making suggestions using only profiles on the database. Each shadchan is independent and knows of hundreds of other available possibilities.
By Jewish law, at your engagement you pay the shadchan the full amount of the well-deserved shadchan fee. As we have no outside funding, in order to cover our operating costs,
we charge a subscription fee of $9/month which you pay when your profile is completed. As soon as you activate your subscription, the shadchanim can see your information.
The usual and customary practice is that shadchanim do not charge a fee upfront. As is the custom for centuries, a shadchan`s fee is only applicable if it results in an engagement.
Shadchanim in the Yismach network work independently as your agents. In accordance with Jewish law, in the event of an engagement, you are obligated to pay the shadchan the customary shadchan fee at your engagement. By signing up, you agree to pay a shadchan fee at your engagement at the very least the minimum standard shadchan fee amount from each side as follows: $1,000 if you were never married, $2000 if you were previously married and $3,000 if you have a physical or mental disability, regardless whether you are Ashkenazi, Sefardi, Temani, Chasidish, Chabad, Breslov, or any other sect where the custom is to pay a lower fee or no fee.
You can offer a higher amount to give shadchanim added incentive. If you post a higher amount on the site, you contractually are obligated to pay upon engagement to the shadchan the total amount of shadchan fee that you offered and posted on the site.
The Shadchanim on our site are established and professional. We do this to protect our clients. If however, you believe you would fit the requirements and would like to join the Yismach team, please send an email through the “contact us” page.
We daven for everyone on Yismach at different Kivrei Tzadikim in Israel throughout the year. We have compiled the complex Hilchos Shidduchim to provide people with a clearer understanding of the Halachic issues that may arise. We periodically set up events, separate for men and women, to help facilitate Shidduchim.
Notify us at Yismach and we will announce your engagement to the shadchanim and delete your profile.
Spread the word! Tell your friends! The larger and more diverse our database is, the easier it is to find everyone their true and unique match. Our goal is to make the shidduch process smoother, faster, and more efficient while still maintaining the personal connection between client and shadchan.
Yes! Your generosity is greatly appreciated to help expand our services. With your financial support, together we can end the shidduch crisis.
